We’ve seen custom bootlogos. We’ve seen animated bootlogos. But has it ever been popular to have a custom respring logo? One of the people on the jailbreak subreddit by the name of snarr has created a simple tutorial on how to perform this.
Before you start, make sure you have a png image file that is 129 x 158 pixels with a transparent background. Also, you’re going to need iFile or an SSH client.
Step 1: Create a folder in /var/stash/Themes.xxxxxx and name it whatever you want.
Step 2: Inside that folder, create a folder called Bundles.
Step 3: Inside that folder, create a folder called com.apple.ProgressUI.
Step 4: Inside that folder, place 2 copies of your png and name them apple-logo@2x~iphone.png and apple-logo-black@2x~iphone.png.
Step 5: Select your newly created theme in Winterboard and hit respring. The results should show instantly.
It has also been reported that using a GIF file will not work if you want an animated respring logo.
So far, this has been tested only on iPhones. If you want this to work on iPad, try changing the word ‘iPhone’ in the file names to ‘iPad’.
