Slender: Rising

20130117-140445.jpg

At first, I thought it was just going to be another dumb Slender game for iOS. But then I saw it had a 5 star review and was in the top charts. Is it worth the money though? I will tell you that it is. This game is great. The fluid movement of it makes it easy to play. Oh and yeah it will scare the poop out of you. They really did a fantastic job with this game and I highly recommend it to any Slender/Scary Game fan.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

A New Look.

So the first thing you probably have noticed about this site is that there is a new theme. This site has evolved from being many different things, but I have finally figured out what I want it to be. I originally created MySlackerMind in order to bring the best movie downloads you could find, but I’ve found that it is so much more than that. I really want to express myself on my site. I have removed all downloads and all pages on my site. This site will be me expressing my opinion on subjects that I enjoy talking about. I love feedback and the only way to get feedback is if I put my opinion out on the table. So here it is, the current state of MySlackerMind is now an opinion blog where hopefully I can evoke conversation.

Apple Camera Gestures Coming?

apple_camera

Directly from cnet:

Apple has filed a handful of patent applications that suggest future iterations of the iPhone andiPad will have dramatically improved camera features.

The seven patent filings — filed on Thursday and first discovered by Patently Apple – describe gesture techniques and technology for preventing red eye in images.

The abstract for patent application No. 20120242852 outlines mapping user interactions to input the parameters for various image filters, as well as applying “location-based distortions” to image processing.

The accompanying illustrations show how a user would interact with the camera via touch gesture, as well as a light tunnel filter that is based on a user’s tap and a filter that Apple refers to as a “shrink filter.”

Another application – No. 20120242849 – describes a technique for assisted image capture, in which the camera would display a stabilized image to determine whether it’s well composed. A second image may replace the original image if it’s substantially similar to the stabilized image.

Apple also wants to help users of its devices conquer red eye, the appearance of glowing red pupils caused by a camera’s flash. Patent applications 2012024378320120243780,2012024286120120242681, and20120242675 describe various techniques for red-eye removal using multiple recognition channels. Once the red-eye artifact has been identified, the techniques replace the artifact with a “photographically reasonable result” based on the type of red eye occurring.

iOS 6 Battery Drainage?

battery

Chances are that you have updated to iOS 6 because of all the neat new features. However, have you experienced battery issues? Personally my iPhone seems to have the same battery life as on previous iOS’. Many people, however, are experiencing significant battery drainage. Here are some testimonials from users:

Only1jb: “Used my 4S the same as every other work day. Usually come home with about 60 percent. Came home today with 17 percent.”

John Smith 1882: “100 percent at 8am this morning when I took it off the charger. 0 percent within four hours. No calls. No GPS, no Internet use, but battery was dropping one percent every few minutes. I turned off location services, no change.”

LocalBus: “Thinking of switching back to 5.1.1 now!! 9am to 10:30am the battery drain is 100 percent to 52 percent!!!!! Something is very wrong.”

Along with many other cases. Hopefully Apple can release an update to fix the battery issues or else people will have to sacrifice the great features in iOS 6 because they will probably downgrade.

What is your battery life like on iOS 6? Tell us in the comments below!

No iOS 6 Jailbreak Anytime Soon

ios6disappoint

Straight from ModMyi:

The popular iOS hacker, pod2g, who recently took the stage at JailbreakCon to discuss jailbreak techniques past and present along with the future of iOS jailbreaking revealed news that will disappoint many. After discussing the methods used in previous jailbreaks for iOS 4 and iOS 5, pod2g revealed that there is currently no working untethered jailbreak for iOS 6. This is in actuality news that turned out to be exactly opposite of what was expected to be announced at the recent JailbreakCon as many people had their hopes up high of pod2g and the Chronic Dev Team announcing an iOS 6 jailbreak.

During his introduction to the iOS 6 portion of his talk, pod2g started by saying “Will I release the iOS 6 jailbreak today? No! Of course not!” Now this might leave many of you wondering what happened to the previous picture we saw of an iPhone 5 running Cydia. According to pod2g, what we saw was proof of what he called a “failbreak,” which he defined as being something for developers only with no possible way to release the method to the public in its current state. To put it into simpler terms, there is no iOS 6 jailbreak for regular iOS device owners at the moment.

Although there is no concrete news of an iOS 6 jailbreak just yet, this doesn’t exactly mean we won’t be seeing one ever. It just means that we’ll need to be patient and should not expect it to be released for at least a few months. There still seems to be a fair share of work that the developers need to tackle regarding the issue. One thing that we do know is that the hackers that attended the JailbreakCon showed great enthusiasm for their work and they seem more motivated than ever. This should surely lead to some great things for the jailbreak community in the future.

The Movies are Back!

movies

Hey guys, great news! The movies page is finally back! Now you can download all the movies you want to see in theaters right on your computer for free! There are no surveys or any of that nonsense. Simply click the link to the movies page, click a movie you want to download, and then it will take you to a site where you can select the “free download” option. This page only contains in-theater movies because I feel that is what most of my visitors wants. Also, having giant lists of movies slows down the site.

So I hope you all enjoy the movies page and have fun downloading! :)
