Could this be the next-generation iPhone? As you might remember, we covered an iPhone 6 concept video a few days back, and I’d have to say that it looks pretty similar to this apparent prototype. The images in this post are said to have originated in Chine, as usual, and show the front and back of the device.
While the FCC markings on the back of the device seem odd for just a prototype, it’s still good to get a visual of what a larger-screen iPhone looks like.
The photos come from an anonymous Twitter user (via MacRumors), and Australian writer Sonny Dickson. Dickson has accurately leaked iPhone parts before launch in the past. The device in the photos is 2.6-inches wide, about .3 inches wider than current iPhones.
We’ve heard rumors that the iPhone 6 could feature a thinner profile and a bezel-free display, both of which line up with this device. Other next-gen iPhone rumors include a new Sony FaceTime camera, a sapphire-covered screen and the usual performance improvements.
As for what goes against this actually being the iPhone 6, we’ve already discussed the FCC markings; however, there is also no cut out around the sim tray hole (shown below).
So all in all, I believe that these photos aren’t the actual prototype for the iPhone 6; however, I do believe that these images will line up closely to what the actual product will look like.
