No Extra MMS Charge for AT&T iPhone Users

There has been much talk about MMS on the new iPhone 3.0 update. If you are an iPhone user and have downloaded the 3.0 final firmwares that I uploaded, which you can get here, you might have noticed that the Messages application did not have MMS support (for AT&T). Well this is because AT&T does not currently support MMS on the iPhone yet, sadly. I know that many of you are probably disappointed and might actually give up on your iPhone, but don’t! Here is a quote from AT&T which can help your hope in MMS messaging:

Later this summer, as part of the 3.0 software, AT&T will make multimedia messaging (MMS) available at no extra cost to customers with a text messaging bundle.

So YES, AT&T will support MMS later this summer! And also AT NO COST! (as long as you have a text messaging plan). But when is later this summer? Well we can greatly assume that it will be June 19th, the day the iPhone 3G S comes out. So AT&T and MMS might come sooner than we imagined. So there you go, your iPhone has been made even better just from this post! (and AT&T).
