Split-Screen Feature Found in iOS 8

So it looks like Apple is doing a lot of catch up with competitors in iOS 8. The latest addition is a “split-screen” feature found buried in the code for iOS 8, so obviously it’s not official (yet). Below you’ll find a video of developer Steven-Troughton Smith demoing the feature which clearly isn’t in it’s final form (insert joke here). You can see that the feature can be set to 1/4 or 3/4 of the screen,…

For the First Time, A Computer Has Passed the Turing Test

The Turing Test is a means to measure a computer’s ability to express intelligent behavior similar to that of a human being. In a test, a panel of judges engages the machine in text-only conversation, and a computer is considered to have passed the test if it fools at least 30 percent of the group. Proposed by father of artificial intelligence Alan Turing in 1950, no computer has passed until now. Under the guise of a…

Sources have said that Apple has started finalizing the specs for the ‘iWatch’ and it will use a curved OLED touchscreen with biometric sensors to collect health-related data. iOS Block – A Widget System for iOS (Concept)

Perhaps one of the coolest concepts I’ve seen yet for iOS. A very smart and simple way to have widgets on iOS. YouTube user technofou has created a concept in which iOS adapts widget capability but doesn’t alter the core of iOS. With a simple open-pinch gesture, you can turn an application into a small block that displays basic information from that application, just like a widget. These blocks are also interactive, so you can control…

iOS 8 Feature: Instant Hotspot

A brand new feature in iOS 8 is the instant hotspot. Essentially, it displays your iPhone as a “WiFi” network on your Mac when you aren’t connected to the internet. You literally don’t even have to touch your phone because it will just automatically display under your WiFi icon in your toolbar on your Mac. As…

Below those are buttons with drop down menu functionality for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth along with a screen brightness slider, followed by audio controls that include the ability to display album…
